India Post has released the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule-II, July 2026 notification for the recruitment of 23,757 candidates for Gramin Dak Sevak posts including Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak. The recruitment is being conducted by the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India.
Candidates who have passed Class 10th with Mathematics and English from a recognized board and meet the prescribed age and local-language requirements can apply online. The India Post GDS selection process does not involve a written examination; candidates are shortlisted through a system-generated merit list based mainly on their Class 10th marks.
The online registration process starts on 31 August 2026, while online applications and fee payment can be completed from 2 September 2026 to 21 September 2026. A correction window will be available from 23 September to 24 September 2026.
The GDS recruitment includes vacancies across various India Post circles. Candidates should carefully check the circle/division-wise vacancy details, eligibility criteria, local language requirements, application fee, preferences and document verification requirements before applying.
